We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end management of the Foundation's finances, including budgeting and financial forecasting across all income sources, working closely with Atlassian Treasury to manage the Foundation's financial commitments.Work with Australian Philanthropic Services to track the Foundation's giving and inform quarterly and annual statistics and financial distribution requirements.Collaborate with AFFIC & AFILFIC (the Foundation's finance & investment committees) to operationalise the Trading Plan, Investing Policy, and Impact Investing Guidelines, including work with Australian Impact Investments.Partner with the Foundation team to develop forecasts, ensure spending aligns with budgets, and build deep business partner relationships across the Foundation to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements.Manage and monitor performance across investments, including the Foundation's impact investment pipeline.Handle financial reporting, including regular management reports, analyzing results, distilling key trends, and communicating insights to Foundation leadership.Lead the Foundation's month-end close, review accruals, and present monthly variance analysis.Provide commentary on current quarter performance through the monthly outlook process in collaboration with FP&A for leadership.Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements.Oversee finance admin tasks and step in to run these tasks when needed.Provide ad-hoc guidance and analyses for strategic projects.QualificationsOn your first day, we'll expect you to have:QuantitativeBachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics).
Minimum 6 years of Finance or Accounting experience including planning and budgeting, financial forecasting, and interpreting and reporting business performance results.Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and presentation development.Strong fundamentals in spreadsheets (Google Sheets, MS Excel) and exposure to planning tools (Anaplan) and data/finance systems (Netsuite).
QualitativeStrategic partnership skills to assess, inform decision making, and contribute to strategy regarding effective financial management.Ability to influence leaders to ensure financial decisions and operational improvements maximize impact of invested dollars.Curiosity to learn and initiative to solve problems independently.Ability to prioritise objectives in ambiguous environments to meet key deliverables on time.Attention to detail and follow-through.Team player who can also self-initiate.Impeccable work ethic with a "get-it-done" attitude.Strong critical thinking and organisational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Efficiency coordinating tasks with stakeholders across different time zones.It's Great, But Not Required If You HaveExperience with philanthropic functions and understanding of DGR structures.Experience with impact investments and investment management reporting.Exposure to procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa) and BI tools/dashboards (e.g., Tableau).
