As
Associate Director, Federal Government & ACT
, you'll be the executive account lead across major Federal & ACT Government portfolios. This is a high-impact role where you'll build deep, trust-based relationships with senior executives, shape strategy, and lead teams across Optus to deliver sophisticated solutions for some of the country's largest and most critical government agencies
It's a role that blends sales leadership, strategic account management, and transformation delivery. You'll work across business development, presales, delivery, and long-term growth.
The day-to-day:
Lead executive engagement across Federal and ACT Government agencies, becoming the trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
Develop and implement long-term account strategies, driving growth and customer satisfaction
Coordinate virtual teams across Sales Specialists, Pre-Sales, Delivery, Legal, Risk, Bids, and Commercial to deliver solutions that matter
Handle multimillion-dollar accounts with a focus on telecommunications, managed services, and digital transformation programs
Drive business development activities to grow market share, deliver against revenue and order targets, and expand share of wallet
Lead all aspects of complex bids, negotiations, and proposals to secure new contracts and renewals
Represent Optus as the executive escalation point, ensuring excellence in delivery and service outcome
What you'll bring:
Proven experience working in or with Federal or State Government, with a consistent track record in business-to-business sales
Strong strategic account management expertise in large, complex organisations
Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at C-level
A consultative, solutions-focused selling style linking customer needs to Optus' capability
Strong commercial acumen, backed by experience handling multimillion-dollar portfolios
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skill
