The Opportunity

Newcastle Anglican is looking for a future‑focused leader who will shape, develop and lead the Youth and Young Adult Wellbeing portfolio. As Director you will ensure a sustainable and viable business now and into the future, develop, lead and drive the Community Wellbeing strategic priorities and objectives, and play an integral role in the success of missional and commercial outcomes.

What are we looking for?

* Lead the transformation of the workforce strategy, driving change needed to enable Newcastle Anglican’s purpose and ensure effective operations.
* Deliver real and tangible impact by driving continuous improvement in safety, people, leadership, quality, efficiency and service.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships to advocate for our mission and purpose, ensuring delivery of programs and services that create a positive impact for the people we support and in the communities we serve.
* Coordinate strategic discussions daily and manage key stakeholders, ensuring operations meet compliance and regulations.
* Set operational budgets and measure staff performance against operational plans and objectives.
* Mentor, inspire and develop a dedicated team focused on quality care, child safeguarding and breaking cycles of disadvantage, poverty and trauma.
* Negotiate tendering processes, program and service development skills.
* Assist teams in meeting budgets, adhering to business plans and other agreed objectives, and facilitate compliance and continuous improvement.
* Manage and report on auditing processes.
* Commit fully to enhancing Newcastle Anglican’s profile and positive reputation within the local community.
* Work with the People & Culture team to lead workforce management planning across all portfolio areas.


About you?

* Relevant tertiary qualifications at a Bachelor level or equivalent.
* A current Working with Children check (with clearance to work with children).
* National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
* Leadership skills in strategy, relationship development, communication, finance, human resource development and customer service.
* Significant operational leadership experience in a similar role within a relevant Community Services Sector (10+ years).
* Postgraduate qualifications in Health or Business Administration, Public Policy or other relevant area is highly regarded.
