About the Role Our organization is seeking a skilled Junior Developer to join our team in Sydney. As a member of our capability and development team, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver innovative solutions across a broad range of cybersecurity objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development, cyber security or related fields, with a strong attention to detail and ability to strive for best quality code. They should also be passionate about security by design and enabling security engineering as a concept. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include developing robust and secure software platforms using Python and React, participating in consultations with stakeholders, creating design documentation, performing code reviews and analysis, and conducting manual and automated software testing. The successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, train and work with non-technical users. About Cyber Security NSW Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital.NSW in the Department of Customer Service. We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW. The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to cyber security threats. We are increasing cyber skills and awareness, understanding the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems, setting cyber security standards, and ensuring we are prepared if a damaging cyber incident occurs. About You To be successful in the role you will need to have: * Software development experience, proficient in one or more modern programming languages, especially Python and React. * A strong attention to detail and ability to strive for best quality code. * Passion for security by design and enabling security engineering as a concept. * Demonstrable interest in learning new languages, approaches, and methods. * Australian citizenship with Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. The salary grade for this role is 5/6, with the base salary starting at $99,938 plus superannuation.
