This position assists the Manager Sport & Leisure with the overall management and operation of Sport and Leisure functions in particular aquatic facilities, whilst ensuring that a high level of compliance, customer service and safety are being delivered. The Aquatic Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of operations and daily tasks pertaining to Aquatic Facility Management with particular focus on the City of Greater Geraldton Aquatic Facilities business and strategic plans.
This position is required to backfill Maternity leave absence and is offered on a full-time basis of 38 hours per week for a fixed term period of up to 12 months, ending August 2027 (with option for extension).
Key accountabilities
* Lead, coordinate and manage Duty Supervisors in ensuring compliance of the City's aquatic facilities with the standards set by the WA Health Act (Swimming Pools 1964 and 2006) regulations, Public Health Department and Council's Health Department.
* Oversee aquatic facility proactive and reactive maintenance needs, including overseeing contracts and completion of works at the City's aquatic facilities to ensure maintenance is planned and undertaken in a timely manner.
* Ensure effective planning, development and delivery of high‐quality programs, activities, events and support services to achieve optimal usage of the current facilities.

Position requirements
Successful applicants would ideally have previous demonstrated experience in aquatic centre operational management.
Completion of a pre‐employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits
The Aquatic Operations Coordinator position has a salary starting from $117,477 per annum or $59.4518 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.

Selection criteria
* Comprehensive knowledge of the provisions of the Health Act, Regulations and By‐Laws applying to the maintenance and operation of Public Swimming Pools.
* Thorough knowledge of the relevant Work Health and Safety procedures and requirements associated with aquatic centre operational management.
* Comprehensive project management knowledge and skills, with an ability to prioritise and effectively time‐manage between various projects and competing demands.
* Comprehensive ability to manage and resolve conflict or tensions between stakeholder groups or clubs related to contention for use of water space or centre facilities.
