Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, this role involves coordinating subcontractors, managing resources, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Installation Lead must have a deep understanding of construction and be capable of managing complex, large-scale projects in remote or challenging environments

Role Summary

Field Execution Leader- MCU, Australia wind Services, will lead a team of MCU Site supervisors (Lead Tech) and support Techs. He will be responsible for execution of Major Component Upgrade (Crane MCU) projects across Australia. Field Execution Leader is accountable for Site execution of multiple MCU Projects across Australia by following GE EHS Policy and SQDC Principles.

For transactional projects, the Field Execution Leader will also provide critical Input on safety & quality of GE Techs and Contractors working under this role.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Leadership and Team Management : Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and manage MCU GE site teams, subcontractors, and workers. Ensuring seamless coordination, fostering a cooperative environment, and motivating teams to meet safety, quality, and project goals.
- Safety and Compliance Expertise : In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, protocols, and industry standards in construction. Demonstrated experience in enforcing safety measures and promoting a safety-first culture on the job site to minimize risks and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety laws.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting : Strong ability to quickly identify, analyze, and resolve complex construction issues. Proficient in managing logistical challenges, resolving equipment malfunctions, and addressing site access or material delivery delays to ensure minimal project disruption.
- Effective Communication and Coordination : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey project status, safety protocols, and technical requirements to all stakeholders. Strong collaboration with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Project and Site Management : Excellent project management abilities, with expertise in planning, scheduling, and supervising multiple tasks and subcontractors simultaneously in fast-paced and dynamic construction environments

Key Responsibilities:

- Site Management: Oversee and coordinate all on-site operations related to wind turbine Major component upgrade including crane operation, Site Mob & Preparation, Components exchanges, and the completion of both electrical and mechanical systems as per the MCU scope. Ensure that the project adheres to GE EHS standard, strict timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
- Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination: Lead and manage subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and site laborers to ensure work is performed efficiently and aligns with the overall project scope. Conduct performance reviews and resolve issues related to resource allocation or subcontractor delays.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Enforce safety protocols to ensure all workers are adhering to safety regulations and environmental guidelines. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to address any hazards identified on-site.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all MCU stakeholders, including Site managers, Project Manager, quality teams, and subcontractors. Provide regular updates, progress reports, and address any concerns or challenges impacting the project’s success.
- Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution: Respond quickly and efficiently to any on-site problems, including resolving equipment breakdowns, managing supply chain issues, and addressing unforeseen obstacles. Work collaboratively with all teams to develop and implement solutions that keep the project on track. (Example: Work with Engineering, Technical Support team and any other relevant function like Tooling, Repair, Methods & Processes, FPM etc. to solve MCU related Tech Issues, and enhance WDI or create Temp WDI If needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of daily activities, safety inspections, incident reports, project delays, and any changes in scope. Ensure that all The SRs and Site reports are duly completed. Report out on performance and lessons learnt/PSR
- Mentorship and Team Development: Act as a mentor to on-site staff, helping to develop their skills and advance their careers. Provide training, guidance, and support to team members, ensuring high performance and a strong team culture focused on collaboration and professional growth
- Work with Project Manager for upcoming project planning specially for the field resource allocation to MCU Jobs that are coming In the Job list.
- Co-ordinate Project schedules along with the daily rosters for Techs on a weekly basis.
- Lead the labor plan and reflect demand to contract Manger to align for contract resources on a monthly basis.
- Organize site surveys and coordinate with internal teams & contractors to build technical files for site execution (Lifting plan protocols, etc.)
- This role is accountable to ensure that MCU Site lead and Team is executing jobs as per the correct WDI, GE Life Saving Rules are followed rigorously. Any breach to GE LSR and Quality defect are reported promptly.
- Provide complete management of MCU field team In Australia. that Includes their OJT and qualification and competency assessment (DCP), Technical coaching,
- Plan future field execution capacity addition as needed.
- Continue to lead site for MCU job execution as per the demand (in case of complex job or peak demand due to high backlog)
- Coordinate the execution of site operations closely with the Site Manager/MCU Lead until the Wind Turbine is returned to service
- Check and approve timecards of Techs and track the cost.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Trade Qualifications and Experience: Must hold a recognized trade qualification relevant to the role and demonstrate a minimum of ten years hands-on experience in the mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation fields, with a proven track record of success in the construction industry. Extensive field experience is essential for this role.
- Supervisory Experience: At least five (5) years of experience working as a Site supervisor or in an equivalent leadership position, overseeing the performance of construction teams and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. However, substantial, and relevant work experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- Proficiency in MS-Office/ Smart sheet and Oracle -ERP: Hands-on experience tools on, resource allocation tools.

Work Environment:

- Location: This role will be based at remote or project/ FSA sites, which may involve travel to different locations, with the potential for extended periods away from home. You should be comfortable working in isolated areas and adapting to diverse site conditions.
- Physical Demands: The role involves exposure to harsh weather conditions, extended hours, and physically demanding tasks. This includes climbing wind turbines, performing manual labor, and working in high-altitude environments.
- Work Schedule: Flexibility is key, as you will be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary to meet project deadlines and milestones. Ability to adapt to a changing schedule and work environment is essential.
- As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.
