Role Overview
Be the lifeline after dark – join our dedicated team delivering hope, crisis support, and emergency relief to vulnerable Victorians. We are seeking a compassionate and driven Intake and Crisis Support Worker to join our team at the St Kilda Crisis Contact Centre. This role involves providing urgent assessment, referral, and crisis support services to individuals and families across Victoria, ensuring they receive the care and connection they need, when they need it most.
Position Details
This is a permanent part-time position, 18 hours per week, based in St Kilda, Victoria .
Responsibilities
1. Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centred support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
2. Deliver emergency relief, advocacy, and short-term, tailored interventions based on thorough client assessments.
3. Connect clients with essential services and build support networks, promoting safety, inclusion, and respect for all, including LGBTIQA+ individuals.
4. Collaborate with team members and external partners, upholding ethical standards and best-practice guidelines.
5. Maintain accurate documentation, manage data, and report incidents to ensure compliance and quality standards.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field (minimum Diploma)
* Relevant experience in a social service environment, with a focus on homelessness
* Employee working with children check
* Victorian Driver's License

Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award level 5 .
