About the role
Balzers Painting Services in Bowral, NSW is seeking a full-time Apprentice Painter and decorator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring painter to learn the trade and develop essential skills under the guidance of our experienced professionals. As an apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting with a variety of painting and decorating tasks, gaining hands-on experience and working towards a recognised qualification.
What you'll be doing
* Preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding and priming
* Applying paint, stains, varnishes and other finishes to a high standard
* Hanging wallpaper and other decorative materials
* Cleaning and maintaining painting equipment
* Learning about colour theory, design principles and industry best practices
* Attending tafe to complete your apprenticeship training
What we're looking for
* A genuine interest in painting and decorating, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
* Good manual dexterity and the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
* A willingness to learn, follow instructions and work as part of a team
* Good communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and colleagues
* A commitment to completing your apprenticeship and obtaining a trade qualification
