About You
You will be a registered Psychologist or Social Worker with experience providing leadership supervision and clinical supervision to a team of psychologists & social workers. You will support the Programs Manager in the provision of effective management and ongoing delivery of psychological services at Acacia in line with organisational requirements and clinical governance guidelines. Your effective communication skills will allow you to connect effectively with diverse audiences, both internal and external stakeholders.
About the Role
The Senior Psychologist is responsible for the provision of leadership supervision, support and clinical supervision to:
A team of social workers and psychologists who conduct individual and group psychological interventions to offenders at Acacia Prison. This team conduct crisis counselling and other targeted clinical interventions designed to reduce the incidence of self-harm and suicide, and assist offenders with adjustment to their incarceration; The Drug Strategy Coordinator who manages interventions, compliance against required performance measures and statistical data associated with illicit drug use. You will oversee and manage a dedicated team including Rostering, Leave management, Performance Management
**To be successful in this role, you will have**: General registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), OR be a qualified Social Worker eligible for full registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (essential) Completed a Masters in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology (desirable); Extensive experience in the delivery of clinical intervention services to adults Advanced knowledge of the assessment and management of suicide and self-harm risk The highest level of ethical behaviour Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, legislative provisions and modern correctional management practices and operations within a Prison Understanding of the issues identified by the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody Experience providing direct psychological services to complex clients
