Overview
We’re looking for a Sales Executive to help The Working Party grow by connecting with ambitious eCommerce brands and showing them the value of working with our team. This is a hunter role – you’ll focus on generating and nurturing new leads, managing strategic partnerships, and closing deals that align with our mission of delivering premium Shopify Plus experiences.
You’ll be the first point of contact for prospects, setting the tone for a seamless client journey. From coordinating the right team members to document the scope and technical requirements, to negotiating commercial agreements and client sign-off, you’ll ensure every deal is positioned for a smooth handover to our delivery teams.
We’re a Shopify Plus agency doing award winning work with brands like KOOKAÏ, JB Hi-Fi and Assembly Label. We\'re growing, and we want to do it in a way that protects our culture and keeps our people front and centre.
Where YOU\'LL BE BASED
While this is a remote role, frequent travel to major Australian cities and Auckland, New Zealand will be required. For this reason, you must be based near either Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast or Brisbane airport to enable regular travel for client meetings, Shopify events, and partner engagements.
What YOU\'LL BE DOING
- Drive new client acquisition: Own the end-to-end sales cycle – from identifying prospects and running discovery calls, to coordinating scoping with Delivery Managers, Designers and Engineers, negotiating terms, and closing deals.
- Coordinate scoping & sign-off: Bring together the right team members to document scopes of work, technical assumptions, and budgets, ensuring commercial clarity before work begins.
- Build strong partnerships: Collaborate with Shopify and other tech partners to generate referrals, map accounts, and co-create events and campaigns.
- Enable seamless handovers: Ensure all client context, signed scopes, and budget expectations are ready for delivery teams to hit the ground running.
- Report and forecast: Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and share insights with leadership.
- Collaborate with marketing: Align campaigns with sales goals and share market insights to refine our messaging.
What WE\'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years in sales or business development, ideally in SaaS, eCommerce, digital, or agency environments.
- A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and closing high-value deals.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams during the sales process.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales processes.
- Experience in the Shopify ecosystem (highly regarded).
