Packer / Fruit and Vegetable Packer
The Fruit and Vegetable Packer is responsible for the efficient packing, handling, and quality control of processed fruit and vegetable products within a production or warehouse environment. The role ensures products are packed to specification, meet quality standards, and are prepared for storage or distribution in accordance with workplace procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Packing products into cartons, boxes, or containers in line with production requirements and specifications.
* Monitoring automated equipment, including X-ray or inspection machines, to ensure product quality, safety, and compliance with standards.
* Conducting visual and physical quality checks on products to identify defects, contamination, or inconsistencies.
* Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to maintain workflow efficiency and address production issues.
* Stacking and arranging packed boxes onto pallets in a secure and organized manner, ensuring stability for storage and transport.
* Labelling and recording palletised goods accurately, including tracking quantities and batch information.
* Maintaining records of processed and packed products, including pallet counts and production outputs.
* Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times, including protected manual handling practices.
* Keeping work areas clean and organized to meet hygiene and food safety standards.
* Assisting with general production and packing line duties as required.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 1 year work experience in a production, manufacturing, or food processing environment.
* Ability to operate and monitor basic production machinery and inspection equipment.
* Strong attention to detail, particularly in quality control and product handling.
* Valuable communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
* Basic record-keeping and organisational skills.
* Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and stacking.
Pay: $65,000.00–$75,000.00 per year
