We are excited to be searching for x2 Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer's, to run and be a part of an upcoming greenfield position at our Ravenhall site. We are about to embark on a new internal project where we are needing to grow our Quality Assurance team who have previous experience in a laboratory setting.
Successful candidates will have knowledge of food standards, great data management skills, experienced within the food industry with a degree in either Food Science/Technology or Science/Chemistry.
We are on the hunt for a highly self-motivated and curious Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer to join our Ravenhall team for day shift.
You will support the Quality Manager and Quality Team Leader to assess the quality of products and raw materials, control processes, perform laboratory tests, compile and evaluate data and also aid in the development and maintenance of quality safety systems.
A normal day in the role of the Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer includes:
* Performing analytical testing on finished goods, in-process samples and raw materials; recording results in a timely manner ensuring no delays that affect the activities of Supply Chain team
* Preparing reports for the leadership of the Quality team as required
* Conducting in-process testing with specified timeframes according to the requirements of the IPC
* Participating in all scheduled sensory sessions for finished goods and all raw materials
* Calibrating instruments and conducting performance checks in accordance with the schedule and recording results
* Managing the pre-shipment sample program (where applicable), ensuring samples are sent to customers within 24 hours of QC pass
* Managing the external testing program
* Participating in scheduled quality and food safety audits
* Performing stocktakes of laboratory consumables
* Assisting with the investigation of customer complaints

To be in the running for this role, you should have:
* A tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Food Science/Technology or Science
* Food industry and coursework/practical laboratory experience
* Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment with good working knowledge in food safety and/or quality
* Knowledge in food safety, raw materials, food regulations, sanitation and production processes
* The ability to problem solve quality issues and provide suggestions for improvements
* Initiative! You are autonomous and a self-starter!
* Solid proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* An open, curious and optimistic outlook; you're a problem solver
