The Opportunity:
We are seeking a high-performing, detail driven Part-Time Accounts Payable Officer for a fixed-term contract to join our dynamic finance team. This role will oversee the Accounts Payable function across multiple sites in the Northern Territory, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls. Your ability to problem-solve, prioritise, and maintain strong relationships across the organisation will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Operations
* Oversee all AP functions for multiple sites across the Territory
* Review invoices for correct documentation, coding, and approval prior to payment
* Process three-way matching invoices (PO, invoice, receipt)
* Prepare supplier invoices for payment batches
* Respond promptly to supplier and internal enquiries
* Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
* Review and process corporate credit card transactions
Financial Processes & Reporting
* Assist with weekly, monthly, and year-end closing activities
* Prepare AP reports and supporting analysis
* Ensure compliance with GST legislation and internal AP policies and procedures
* Maintain and enhance AP controls to ensure accuracy and transparency
Stakeholder Support & Training
* Provide advice and training to staff across the organisation in AP-related processes
* Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues
* Support continuous improvement across finance workflows
Other Duties
* Assist with general finance and administrative tasks as directed by management
Qualifications and Experience:
* High level of computer literacy, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
* Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) - Desirable
* Experience working in a Not-for-Profit organisation - Desirable

This position is advertised as a 9-month fixed-term maternity leave cover, the position is 0.5 FTE (approximately 19 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours)
