The role
We currently have an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in records management to build upon their administrative career.
Reporting into the Canberra Operations Manager and working closely with the National Records Team, we are currently seeking a Records Assistant to work on a full-time basis. The Assistant is primarily responsible for providing records management and clerical support in accordance with the Clayton Utz Risk Management Policy. This role will also provide support to the Canberra Operations team when required.
Key responsibilities
In this varied and busy role, you will be responsible for:
- Registering, retrieving, and archiving files in our records management system- Liaising with internal stakeholders regarding collections- Organising retrievals with our off-site storage providers- Undertaking general records management duties including the manual handling of archive boxes- Accurate data entry and general database management- Working on ad-hoc records projects- Providing records management advice and support to staff- Preparing & scanning files- Assisting with tasks for the wider Operations team when required
Skills & Experience- Some exposure to records management, or administration working in a professional services/law firm environment (preferable)- Proven experience working independently with the ability to generate your own work and be proactive- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (essential), and working with records management systems (highly advantageous)- A high level of professionalism and attention to detail- The physical ability to lift archive boxes, push court trolleys and the manual handling of physical files
In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter. Someone who is able to work autonomously and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to their clients.
The Records Management team
Our Records Management Team is responsible for the management of legal and business advisory services physical files and safe custody items. This incorporates the management of file storage areas on the legal floors and within the records management team storage areas, as well as the collection, storage and retrieval of files in off-site storage.
