Location: Brisbane, Australia (regular travel to Papua New Guinea)
Seeking an experienced HR Manager to establish and lead the human resources function for a large-scale remote mining operation. The role will oversee workforce planning, recruitment, industrial relations, compliance, performance management, training, and employee engagement to support operational readiness and long-term workforce effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement workforce plans aligned with operational requirements.
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, mobilisation, and workforce deployment activities.
* Manage employee and industrial relations, including contracts, grievances, and workforce policies.
* Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and regulatory obligations.
* Implement performance management, employee development, and leadership training programs.
* Oversee compensation, benefits, payroll inputs, and workforce reporting.
* Establish HR systems, dashboards, and governance frameworks.
* Collaborate with operational, community, security, and government stakeholders to support workforce objectives.
Requirements
* 10+ years of HR experience, preferably within mining, oil & gas, construction, or remote operations.
* Strong background in workforce mobilisation, industrial relations, and HR compliance.
* Experience building or leading HR functions in complex operational environments.
* Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and problem‐solving skills.
* Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
* Experience in Papua New Guinea or similar jurisdictions is advantageous.
