Role

We are seeking to establish a pool of Laboratory Technicians for permanent and fixed‐term, full‐time and part‐time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint dedicated and passionate Laboratory Technicians to join our team. As Laboratory Technicians, suitable applicants will provide support and advice to the Head of Learning Area and teaching staff to ensure curriculum requirements are met. Part of the role includes but is not limited to:

* Providing advice on suitable experiments to support teaching and curriculum outcomes for science classes
* Preparing chemicals, equipment and materials; designing and constructing teaching aids; and collecting and caring for living organisms for study purposes
* Organising preparation areas and classroom laboratories and undertaking general housekeeping of chemicals and equipment

Qualifications

The ideal applicants should have experience working within a science laboratory, including knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements. Applicants should have good written and interpersonal communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment.

+ Demonstrated experience working within a science laboratory, including knowledge of laboratory techniques and relevant safety and legislative requirements.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of science subjects relevant to the curriculum taught in secondary schools and the ability to design and construct experiments and equipment to support curriculum requirements.
+ Demonstrated good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Demonstrated organisational and time‐management skills and ability to work independently.
+ Demonstrated well‐developed keyboarding and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
