About the role
* Full time | 76 hours per fortnight
* Based at headspace Canberra, Lyneham
* HPA Level 4 ($73.00 to $77.63 per hour) + Super
* Not-for-profit salary packaging benefits up to $18,500 per annum
* Interstate candidates are encouraged to apply, with a relocation allowance available for suitable applicants.
* An attraction and retention allowance will also be considered for recommended applicants.
About the Role

As Service Manager, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of the headspace Early Psychosis (hEP) Canberra program. Partnering closely with the Operations Manager, you’ll provide strong operational and clinical leadership to deliver high‑quality, recovery‑focused care that makes a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.

You’ll champion clinical excellence, drive service performance, and build a capable, motivated workforce, while embedding continuous improvement across the program.

Leading the Continuing Care Team (CCT) and working alongside the Team Leaders of MATT and FRT, you’ll ensure robust clinical governance, seamless service integration, and consistently positive outcomes.

About the Program

Headspace Early Psychosis operates under the internationally recognised Orygen EPPIC model, delivering integrated, youth‑centred mental health care through:

* Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) – providing rapid, flexible assessment and intervention
* Continuing Care Team (CCT) – supporting sustained recovery and long‑term outcomes
* Functional Recovery Team (FRT) – helping young people rebuild confidence, skills, and meaningful participation in life

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, person-centred individual to lead with purpose, influence system‑wide outcomes, and be part of a program that changes lives at a critical moment.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day operations of the Early Psychosis program
* Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Team Leaders and staff
* Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, recovery-oriented care
* Embed clinical governance, risk management, and quality frameworks
* Drive service performance, data quality, and reporting outcomes
* Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding
* Contribute to budget management and operational planning
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the broader service system
* Lead continuous improvement, audits, and accreditation processes
About You

You are a confident and values-driven leader with a strong clinical background and a passion for youth mental health.

You bring:

* Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or a related discipline
* Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA or AASW)
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in mental health, including leadership experience
* Demonstrated experience leading and supervising multidisciplinary teams
* Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and quality systems
* Experience managing service delivery, performance, and complex environments
* Ability to influence, collaborate, and lead through change
* Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practice

Desirable:

* Experience in early psychosis programs
* Budget and financial management experience
