Job Summary : Successful candidate will be assigned to the field construction organisation in a supervisory role.
You will be responsible for supervising and directing all operations within the following disciplines: Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls on an EPC (direct-hire) Project Supervises and directs Contractor craft activities and others, as assigned Successful candidate will ensure assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance is in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
They will also be the primary contact for jobsite electrical operations and activities and will coordinate with client or contractor resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of electrical operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all jobsite electrical activities and ensure construction operations are in compliance with design, specifications, Environmental Safety and Health Legislation, and relevant guidelines.
This role is offered on a FIFO basis to North Queensland, operating on a 2:1 roster Major Responsibilities: Provide technical and administrative direction to subordinate field staff and others, as assigned.
Responsible for field construction operations within assigned discipline and/or area.
Determine workforce requirements.
Coordinates established area operational plans.
Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by craft.
Monitor work activities and ensures the quality of work accomplished.
Ensure the most current design documentation is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
Complete direct report time records using established automated tools.
Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Responsible for the implementation of corporate / Project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
Ensure Bechtel and local safety codes, requirements and standards are being compiled within their assigned area of responsibility.
Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.
Education and Experience Requirements: Electrical Engineering degree or at least 10 years' experience in a similar role.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience in development of execution and construction scopes of work and strategies.
Sound Knowledge of QLD mining Act and Regulations Experience with Communication, Controls and Hazardous Areas would be an advantage Experience in EPC(M) contract management.
Thorough knowledge of construction, fabrication and logistics activities as they relate to construction, services, engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract formation and administration.
Extensive background in mining construction projects, providing leadership, maintaining good client relationships and developing talent within the project.
