We are currently seeking an experienced 2x Grader Operators based out of Townsville to support works across Townsville and surrounding regional areas.
About the role
This is a hands-on role for an experienced operator who can work independently, follow project specifications, and contribute positively to site productivity and team culture.
The role will involve operating graders on a range of civil construction and roadworks projects, with work carried out across Townsville and the surrounding region. Travel may be required depending on project location.
Key responsibilities
* Operate grader equipment safely and efficiently across civil and road construction projects
* Carry out final trim, maintenance grading, drainage work, road formation and batters as required
* Read and work to levels, plans and site instructions
* Conduct daily pre-starts and routine plant checks
* Identify and report mechanical issues, defects, hazards and safety concerns
* Work closely with supervisors, leading hands and other plant operators to achieve programme targets
* Maintain a high standard of care for plant and equipment
* Comply with Gulf Civil’s safety, environmental and site procedures at all times
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* proven experience as a Grader Operator in civil construction and/or roadworks
* ability to carry out final trim and operate to required tolerances
* current driver’s licence
* construction White Card
* relevant plant tickets, VOCs or evidence of competency
* strong understanding of site safety requirements and operating procedures
* ability to work in regional locations and travel where required
* a reliable, hardworking attitude and willingness to be part of a team
Desirable
* experience working on regional or remote civil projects
* HR licence
* GPS / machine control experience
* experience operating other civil plant where required
