About the role
In this role, you will lead the Commercial Analysis team, build strategic networks across the organisation, and provide executive-level commercial advice aligned with the City's Service Review Framework and other key frameworks. You will support the City's strategic objectives by delivering rich commercial analysis that enhances service delivery and drives informed decision-making for maximum customer and community impact.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide advice and guidance to the team as a subject matter expert, elevating team capabilities through regular training, coaching, and mentoring, with a focus on enhancing both stakeholder management and technical acumen.
* Regularly track and report on performance against departmental goals, ensuring alignment with key objectives.
* Own and manage the use of the City's service review prioritisation tool in consultation with the Corporate Project Management Office, ensuring its effective use in identifying and prioritising key service areas for review.
* Play a key role in the City's efficiency and revenue program, collaborating to identify and implement initiatives that improve operational efficiencies and drive cost savings.
* Provide executive-level advice and recommend solutions to various stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Service Review Framework and the City's interests and requirements.
* Motivate and provide strong operational leadership to the Commercial Analysis team, fostering an inclusive, customer-focused, and accountable culture while elevating stakeholder management and technical acumen across the team.
* Provide professional and best-practice change management advice or solutions to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with the Business Plan, the City's interests, legislation, policy, and statutory requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have CPA or CA qualification professional or relevant tertiary qualification in accounting/finance and extensive experience within a finance or commercial analyst role in a comparable organisation.

* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices related to local government service delivery.

* Well-developed problem solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaboration and partnerships.
* Proven capability to add value at both strategic and operational levels within an organisation.
* Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
