The organisation partners closely with surgeons to deliver advanced implantable lenses, surgical instruments, and consumables, underpinned by a collaborative culture and a strong commitment to clinical and commercial excellence.
Job Description
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this role is responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across a designated Victorian territory, with the majority of activity focused within the Melbourne metropolitan area.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and executing territory strategies to grow sales across intraocular lenses (IOL), implantable contact lenses (ICL), surgical instruments, and consumables
* Establishing and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with ophthalmologists, surgeons, and key clinical stakeholders
* Conducting regular, high-quality surgeon engagements within a consultative, relationship-led sales model
* Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while maximising growth within existing accounts
* Providing product demonstrations, in-theatre support, and technical education as required
* Managing sales forecasting, pipeline activity, and CRM reporting to ensure accurate territory oversight
* Operating autonomously in a predominantly field-based role (~80%), with remaining time allocated to administrative, planning, and reporting activities (~20%)

The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role, you will bring a sales-first mindset with a proven track record in complex medical device sales.
You will ideally have:
* 3-5+ years' experience in medical device sales
* Background in ophthalmology, implants, or hospital surgeon sales (highly regarded)
* Experience in comparable complex sales environments such as ENT, cardiology, orthopaedics, or dental implants
* Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
* Commercial acumen with a focus on account growth and long-term partnerships
* High levels of professionalism, accountability, and self-motivation
o Understanding the policies and procedures including any vaccination and background checks in line with your role and responsibilities.
o Current valid driver's license.
o Permanent Australian resident status.
o Demonstrated competence in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
o High standard of demonstrable written and verbal communication skills.
o Professional appearance.
o Willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional overnight travel
Experience with or exposure to Opthalmic technology portfolio is highly preferred
