Medical Receptionist Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service, manage appointments, and coordinate patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, GPs, surgeons, and allied health providers.
* Review referrals, manage appointments, and coordinate patient flow.
* Schedule surgeries and coordinate operating theatre lists.
* Prepare accurate fee estimates for patients.
* Invoice and reconcile Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, and private health fund accounts.
* Manage correspondence and dictations for general practitioners.
* Support basic clinical tasks, including suture removal (training provided).
* Provide general administrative and secretarial support.
* Assist with broader clinic and operational tasks as required.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' medical administration experience.
* Strong computer literacy and excellent attention to detail.
* Experience using Genie/Gentu or similar practice management software.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Understanding of medical terminology.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Previous clinical assisting or clinical experience is desirable but not essential.
