Haemodialysis Nurse Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Haemodialysis Nurse Specialist to provide exceptional patient care within our multidisciplinary haemodialysis team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for nephrology nursing to deliver high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
* Provide expert clinical care to patients undergoing haemodialysis, including assessing their needs, developing individualised care plans, and delivering treatment according to established protocols.
* Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, dietitians, and social workers, to ensure seamless care coordination and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and overall experience within the haemodialysis service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas of concern and developing targeted care plans to address these needs.
2. Deliver high-quality haemodialysis treatments, adhering to established protocols and guidelines while maintaining accurate records of patient progress.
3. Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, providing clear information about treatment options, risks, and benefits.
4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatment administered, and any notable events or issues.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified Registered Nurse with current practising certificate and registration with AHPRA.
* Minimum 12 months' experience in haemodialysis or nephrology nursing, preferably in an acute hospital setting.
* Strong knowledge of haemodialysis principles, theories, and practices, including medication management and fluid balance.
* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Desirable Skills:
* Postgraduate qualification in nephrology nursing or related field.
* Experience working with electronic medical records systems and computerised charting software.
* Ability to speak additional languages (not English) spoken by patients within the local community.
