About BRAMS

Established in 1978, Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS ) was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia. Committed to the core principles of Aboriginal self-determination, access, equity, empowerment and reconciliation, they are an Aboriginal community owned and controlled health service that provides holistic, culturally appropriate curative services as well as integrated preventative programs.

With a strong governance structure and comprehensive strategic plan, BRAMS continues to grow and expand their offerings to ensure they can achieve their vision of Healthy People, Strong Communities, and Bright Futures.

About the Opportunity

BRAMS is looking for a full-time Finance Officer based in Broome, WA, to support the financial operations of BRAMS and of the newly established Leaving Violence Program (LVP). This position will provide essential finance and administrative functions to ensure smooth delivery of support services.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

o Booking and managing travel and accommodation for clients fleeing domestic violence
o Supporting payroll operations, including acting as backup for payroll processing
o Supporting accounts payable and receivable
o Performing financial checks, reconciliations, and peer reviews
o Assisting with reporting and compliance as required by program and funding bodies
o Collaborating with other team members and services to support the program’s financial integrity

About You

To qualify, you will ideally have experience in finance or bookkeeping, and a high level of integrity and attention to detail. While formal qualifications are not essential, your ability to operate reliably and learn new systems will be key.

We’re particularly interested in individuals who are:

o Honest, trustworthy, and organised
o Detail-oriented and accurate with numbers
o Comfortable working in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive environment
o Willing to learn and grow within the role
o Respectful of confidentiality and professional boundaries

Experience within an Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) or similar community health setting is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
