The Australian Government has launched an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to join the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) as a Grant Agreement Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing agreements with varying levels of complexity, ensuring compliance with relevant internal stakeholders.

This is an Identified position, which signifies that the role has strong involvement in matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As such, the ideal candidate must possess cultural competency, including understanding the matters impacting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with them.


Job Description

The Grant Agreement Manager will be responsible for:

* Drafting new funding agreements and variations to existing agreements.
* Undertaking assessments of performance reports and financial acquittals.
* Applying sound judgment and making evidence-based decisions aligned to the operating environment and legislative frameworks.
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders regarding the management of agreements.

The role requires a high level of analytical, research and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage grant agreements with varying levels of complexity and sensitivity.

The NIAA offers a supportive environment to assist professionals to learn the specifics of the role. Full training is provided, and the Grants Management Unit provides a collaborative setting to enhance team performance.
