The Migration Support Program provides help and support to refugees, people seeking asylum, people in immigration detention and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration.
About the role
The Coordinator – Housing provides housing and tenancy management services to refugees and humanitarian entrants establishing a new life in Australia. The role is responsible for managing properties adhering to the relevant State & Territory Residential Tenancies Act and program policies. The Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring refugees secure long-term and sustainable tenancies for a diverse and broad range of communities. This role plays a critical role in the delivery of our services to refugees and humanitarian entrants and will work closely with our case coordination teams, volunteers and other partners.
About you
Proven ability to work across multiple functions and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to communicate and apply effective interview techniques to sensitively gain information from clients
Ability to manage complex and sensitive issues
Proven capacity to be adaptive and resilient and to work independently in a self-directed manner, and also as a member of a team.
Demonstrated understanding of the complex needs of children and young people is desirable
Excellent records management and general office administration
A Working with Children is a mandatory requirement for this role
