Roles and Responsibilities
This role requires an individual with a strong network background with a minimum of 8–10 years of experience in roles within the Telecommunication industry, and at least 3 years in a Business Function Test Lead role with a strong focus on business process analysis, user acceptance testing, and business systems validation related to Order Capture and Order Fulfilment.
This role will involve a mix of Network - Engineering, Support and Administration (including configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, hardware, software and protocols) as well as the Integrated Testing mentioned above.
Key Skills and Proficiencies
NETWORK - ENGINEER, SUPPORT AND ADMINISTRATION
- Access and Design of Network Architecture to perform quality checks on the network design and implementation of complex network solutions.
- Plan, implement, configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure, hardware, software including updates and network protocols.
- Be involved in the sizing and managing of network capacity and plan for future network changes.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Continuously improve network performance and contribute to new network standards.
TESTING
- Business Flow Process Expertise: Proficiency Level – Expert. Deep understanding of BPM principles, methodologies, and related tools; analyze, document and improve complex business workflows; align processes with business strategy.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Strategy & Execution: Proficiency Level – Expert. Develop UAT strategies, test plans, and manage the UAT lifecycle; coordinate with end-users and stakeholders.
- UAT Scenario and Test Case Design: Proficiency Level – Advanced. Design and facilitate UAT scenarios and test cases reflecting real-world use cases and requirements; ensure traceability to requirements.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Proficiency Level – Expert. Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders; manage expectations and convey progress and risks.
- Defect Management & Business Impact Analysis: Proficiency Level – Advanced. Identify, document, and track defects; assess business impact and prioritize resolution.
- Test Data Management: Proficiency Level – Intermediate to Advanced. Define and implement test data strategies; experience with provisioning is a plus.
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation (Business Context): Proficiency Level – Intermediate. Identify and mitigate business risks within UAT processes.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency Level – Advanced. Root-cause analysis and solution proposals with a business focus.
Responsibilities
Network
- Data Services — activation, disconnection and modifications.
- Configurations in the Access Management Systems (AMS).
- Delivery of services on multiple networks.
- Provide remote support to on-field technicians for troubleshooting physical installations and DSL issues.
- Perform quality checks on Network Design Documents.
- Create user and training documentation.
- Prepare reports and analyze system data.
Integrated Testing
- Business Process Expertise: Develop understanding of core business processes, workflows, and data flows; analyze and document processes for validation.
- UAT Strategy and Planning: Lead development and execution of UAT strategies, plans, and timelines for new implementations and changes.
- Scenario and Test Case Design: Design business-driven UAT scenarios and test cases; ensure traceability to requirements.
- UAT Execution and Coordination: Oversee UAT execution with end-users and stakeholders; provide guidance to testers.
- Defect Management (Business Impact Analysis): Manage defects and assess business impact for prioritization and resolution.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: Primary contact for stakeholders; communicate progress and risks.
- Process Improvement and Best Practices: Identify opportunities for UAT process improvement and best practices.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Develop materials and guidance for end-users; promote quality and user-centric validation.
- Data Validation and Integrity: Ensure data accuracy and integrity across processes and systems.
- Post-Implementation Review: Participate in post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned.
- Tools and Technology Advocacy: Recommend tools to enhance validation and UAT efficiency.
- Test Data Management: Define and implement test data strategies; collaborate to provision data environments.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify business risks and mitigate within UAT processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years in Telecommunications with a strong Network background and 3 years as a Business Function Test Lead focused on process analysis, UAT, and validation.
- Deep understanding of business process modelling, analysis, and optimization.
- Proven ability to develop and execute UAT strategies in complex environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and business orientation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with defect tracking and management tools.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in developing and delivering training materials and facilitating UAT sessions.
- Knowledge of test data management principles and practices.
- Understanding of service virtualization concepts and experience contributing to its implementation.
- Experience with Salesforce, ServiceNow and Remedy.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
