About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Sydney team on a 9‐month fixed‐term contract, covering maternity leave.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with leadership, managing day‐to‐day finance operations, and supporting a multi‐entity, professional services environment.
You'll work closely with the CFO, People and Office Manager and Senior Leadership team to ensure continuity, accuracy, and strong financial insights during the leave period.
Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and reconciliations
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Oversee accounts receivable and payable, including follow‐ups
* Prepare and lodge BAS
* Run payroll and manage payroll compliance, including superannuation
* Ensure compliance with statutory and internal financial obligations
* Maintain financial data integrity across Xero and ERP / finance systems
* Support process improvements and system efficiencies
* Collaborate with Senior Leadership team and prepare monthly invoicing
What you will bring to the team
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Senior Accountant in a commercial (in‐house) role
* Experience supporting a business in the professional services industry
* Strong experience working with multiple company/entity structures
* Exposure to ERP or integrated finance systems
* Intermediate Excel skills, including reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis
* Strong attention to detail with a practical, delivery‐focused mindset
* Confident communicator who works well in a collaborative team environment
