Overview
Vantage West is seeking a technically strong LV Electrician to provide dedicated onsite electrical support to the Boart Longyear LF160 E-Rig at Christmas Creek (FMG).
This is a specialist role supporting next-generation electrified drilling technology in the Pilbara.
FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 roster (8 x 12-hour shifts per swing), this position offers strong earning potential, stability, and exposure to advanced electric drill systems.
Long Term role with opportunities for career advancement.
What You'll Be Responsible For
* Fault finding, testing and repairs on the LF160 electric drill rig
* Maintenance of motors, VFDs, transformers, switchgear and AC systems
* LV and ELV system troubleshooting (12v / 24v / 60v systems)
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
* Recording test results and compiling compliance documentation
* Supporting safe job planning and risk management
* Providing technical guidance on drill rig electrical systems
You will operate under the Fortescue Electrical Supervisor, with daily task allocation overseen by the Boart Longyear Drilling Supervisor.
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Current WA Electrical Licence (LV)
* Strong experience with industrial or PLC-controlled mobile machinery
* Proven high-level fault-finding capability
* Experience with LV & ELV systems
* Ability to work autonomously in a field-based mining environment
* Current Australian Driver's Licence
* Full Australian working rights
* Able to pass medical & National Police Clearance
Highly Regarded
* Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Restricted Electrical Licence (REL)
* Experience with VFDs, transformers and switchgear
* Automotive network / CAN Bus experience
* Previous drill rig or heavy mobile plant exposure
