The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and handy individual to join our team as a Vineyard Hand, with Maintenance experience. As the Vineyard hand you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including maintaining tractor operations, foliar and weed spraying, machine and hand pruning, grape harvesting, slashing, vine training, trellis repair and assisting with irrigation maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain tractor operations and manage vineyard machinery.
* Conduct foliar and weed spraying using sprayers and other vineyard equipment.
* Perform both machine and hand pruning to ensure healthy vine growth.
* Assist with grape harvesting, ensuring efficient and timely collection.
* Carry out slashing to maintain vineyard appearance and health.
* Train and manage vine growth to support optimal crop yield.
* Repair and maintain trellises to ensure vine support structures are in good condition.
* Assist with irrigation maintenance to support proper water distribution.
What we are looking for
* An appreciation for precision viticulture and its importance in producing premium wines.
* Experience in tractor and/or harvester operations, manual and machine pruners, sprayers and other vineyard implements.
* Equipment maintenance including servicing and repairs to vineyard equipment.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work with limited supervision.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Current driver's licence (MR preferred).
* Impeccable safety standards with a chemical handler's certificate (preferred).
* High risk forklift licence (preferred).
