We are seeking a highly experienced Data Scientist to join our Operational DER Management team. This role is pivotal in developing processes and tools to integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DER) into operational systems.
* Conduct quantitative analysis of large DER datasets to understand behaviours during power system disturbances.
* Develop and enhance tools for DER data analysis.
* Collaborate with stakeholders including DNSPs, OEMs, and third-party data providers.
* Investigate and interpret data from sources such as the DER Register, Clean Energy Regulator, smart meters, PMUs, and high-speed power quality meters.
* Advocate for management approaches to address DER impacts on system security.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Extensive professional experience in a related discipline.
* Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering, data science, computer science, or similar.
* Proven experience working with DER datasets in Australia.
* Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, Grafana).
* Expertise in handling large datasets including NMI-level DER generation data, AMI data, and PMU data.
* Excellent problem-solving, modelling, and critical thinking abilities.
* Ability to produce clear, insightful analysis and documentation.
