About the role
This full-time Cellar Assistant role at The Brisbane Club offers an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious private club and contribute to the exceptional dining experience for our members. Based in the heart of Brisbane QLD 4000, you will play a key part in managing the club's extensive wine cellar and supporting the culinary team.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting with the receiving, storage and organisation of wine deliveries
2. Maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels
3. Monitoring wine conditions and temperatures to ensure optimal quality
4. Providing sommelier-level recommendations and pairings to members
5. Supporting the restaurant team with wine service during busy periods
6. Conducting regular cellar audits and implementing process improvements
7. Contributing to the club's exceptional hospitality standards
What we're looking for
1. 1-2 years' experience working in a similar cellar assistant or sommelier role
2. Strong knowledge of wine varietals, regions and production methods
3. Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
4. Ability to work collaboratively with the culinary and service teams
5. Enthusiasm for providing outstanding customer service to members
6. Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications are highly desirable
