Job Title: Data Modeller
We are seeking an experienced data modeller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of database design and development, as well as strong communication skills.
About the Role:
The data modeller will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining enterprise data models to support complex projects. This will involve scoping, sourcing and optimising data for analysis while ensuring system integrity.
The role requires the ability to develop and enhance conceptual, logical and physical data models following architecture principles and standards. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to query and interpret data using SQL to provide clear advice on complex data matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Data Model Design: Develop and enhance conceptual, logical and physical data models following architecture principles and standards.
* Data Analysis: Query and interpret data using SQL to provide clear advice on complex data matters.
* Relationship Analysis: Analyse data structures, relationships, flows, lineage and definitions to identify gaps and design solutions.
* Collaboration: Work with business and solution designers to support new data requirements, cleansing and conversion.
* Table Design: Design physical tables with appropriate primary keys and data types in ER Studio.
* Documentation: Provide peer reviews, release documents, DDL SQL scripts and other artefacts.
* Reporting: Support business analysts with reporting requirements and solution architecture reviews.
* Advisory Role: Advise on continuous improvement and industry best practices for data modelling.
* Team Collaboration: Collaborate with development and BAU teams to implement new or amended solutions.
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years in database design and development.
* Skills: Proficiency in data modelling methodologies and techniques.
* Communication: Strong communication skills to present complex data models to varied audiences.
