The Role
We are seeking an experienced and creative Textile and Manual Arts Specialist Teacher to join our faculty in a part-time capacity (two days per week) commencing Term 1, ****.
In this role, you will:
Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs for students in Class 6 to Class 8, incorporating both soft and hard crafts such as sewing, knitting, felting, and woodworking.
Inspire creativity, craftsmanship and confidence through lessons that nurture imagination and practical skills.
Maintain a beautiful and organised classroom reflective of Steiner education values.
Manage resources and budgets responsibly, ensuring sustainable and efficient use of materials.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school festivals, community events, and professional learning activities.
What You Bring
Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility prior to commencement).
Experience teaching craft or practical arts in a Steiner or independent school setting.
Strong craftsmanship skills in both soft and hard craft disciplines.
Commitment to fostering student wellbeing, creativity, and holistic development.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
An understanding of or genuine interest in Steiner education.
