This role will see you join the IT Applications team to provide 24x7 critical ongoing support and preventative maintenance for applications supporting the Weather (including Aviation and Community Services) and Climate sectors. The position is accountable for delivering an exceptional customer experience for our colleagues and customers by providing specialised expertise and support.
The individual will be involved in development, configuration, deployment and support of the Bureau's critical Aviation systems for key users including Forecasting Operations centres in Melbourne and Brisbane. They will also provide secondary support for other applications supported by the team.
Excellent technical analysis, problem solving, communication and teamwork skills are required, as well as flexibility and a willingness to learn new technologies. Interactions with application and system vendors as well as other technical teams and forecasting experts across the Bureau are a part of this role.
You will be working on enhancing the Bureau's aviation related systems to deliver a more flexible, responsive, and cost-effective service meeting the growing needs of the aviation industry. You will also transfer the solution and line management to the Data & Digital Group (DDG) group to provide ongoing support and develop to the ALMT Team.
