Regional Financial Leadership Role
Walgett is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to lead its Financial Services Unit, overseeing key functions including budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, rating, compliance and investment strategy.
The successful candidate will also manage the business improvement and fleet teams, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and aligned with Council's broader goals.
They will provide strategic financial advice to senior managers, contribute to long-term financial and asset planning, and play an active role in risk management and audit processes.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* A degree in accounting or a related field.
* Knowledge of NSW local government, or a willingness to learn quickly.
* Experience preparing budgets, financial statements and long-term financial plans.
* Strong knowledge of financial systems, compliance, audit and risk.
* Ability to lead teams, manage performance and support staff development.
