The Role
The Project Support Officer role has been established for the Hunter Class Frigate Branch in location in Canberra ACT. The role will provide Project Support to Industry Workforce Team in the Hunter Class Frigate.

The Project Support Officer works directly to the APS 6 Lead of Industry Workforce, as a representative of the Hunter Class Frigate Executive Directorate, and will:

* Provide Project Support to Industry Workforce.
* Provide project support including managing the group inbox and meeting arrangements for key stakeholders.
* Liaise with stakeholders and visitors of all levels, build good working relationships and providing a point of contact for assistance and general enquiries for Industry Workforce.
* Develop and maintain relationships to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives of the HCF Project.
* Support the coordination of key documentation processes in the Industry Workforce team.
* Maintain records in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures.
* Attend regular team meetings, branch meetings and relevant Industry Workforce stakeholder engagement meetings.

About our Team
The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) is one of the world’s most advanced warships, and the project is Australia’s largest shipbuilding project. The HCF program provides the foundation for Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and is bringing together global expertise from the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia to solve complex design and construction challenges.

The HCF program has introduced new approaches to Defence project and engineering management. Whilst built on traditional systems engineering and contract management approaches, Defence and the shipbuilding industry are evolving to meet the demands associated with growing and sustaining a skilled, sovereign workforce.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will work well as part of a small team, be able to prioritise and self-manage tasks, and be expected to apply initiative, judgment and expertise under limited direction to achieve outcomes for the program. You will perform moderately complex activities within an integrated workforce and contribute to the achievement and delivery of complex capability.

They will be an innovative and adaptive thinker who exercises flexibility, courage and accountability. An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills and ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Your organisational skills in co-ordination will be one of your key strengths. You will be able to build and sustain productive working relations both internally and externally. Our ideal candidate has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn.
