We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer / UI Designer to join a high-performing digital delivery team working on large-scale, customer-facing platforms.
This is a hybrid role combining front-end development and UI/UX design, ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full design-to-build lifecycle and delivering intuitive, accessible digital experiences.
You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering user-centric solutions, collaborating closely with researchers, designers, and engineers to design, prototype, test, and implement high-quality interfaces.
* Must hold Baseline clearance or higher.
* This position will be ideally ACT based but can be remote, within Australia. (case by case)
* 12 Month contract with 2 x 12 month extension periods.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and iterate user-centric interfaces based on research and feedback
* Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
* Conduct and support usability testing and UX evaluation
* Build responsive UI components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks
* Translate designs and prototypes into high-quality, production-ready code
* Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to improve usability and accessibility
* Advocate for best-practice UX and accessibility standards
Skills & Experience
* Strong experience in front-end development using:
o HTML / CSS
o JavaScript
o React and/or Angular
* Experience designing interfaces using tools such as:
o Figma, Adobe XD, or Axure
* Solid understanding of:
o Design systems and UI principles
o User-centred design methodologies
* Experience working with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
* Ability to work across both design and development disciplines
