Job Title: Plant and Fleet Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced professional to manage our plant and fleet operations, ensuring a high level of service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with internal customers and external suppliers to specify, evaluate, and provide plant and equipment through direct purchase and hire to obtain best value.
* Participate in and facilitate the implementation of fleet transition plans to support Council's Net Zero Emissions goals.
* Ensure Council's Work Health & Safety (WHS) responsibilities with respect to plant, fleet and equipment purchases and disposal are in accordance with legislative requirements.
* Coordinate stores warehouse inventory system and functions including stocktaking to ensure stock levels are relevant to organisational requirements.
* Undertake and report on asset disposal valuations.
* Coordinate hire arrangements for externally owned fleet.
* Collect and analyse data and report to Manager on stores performance, fleet expenditure, internal/external patterns and trends, and supplier delivery performance.
* Provide maintenance and repair advice to Council's Workshop team and external service providers.
* Lead, engage, mentor, and develop the team, ensuring effective personnel management in order to deliver operational works and achieve the best organisational and community outcomes.
Requirements:
* Substantial experience, skills, and knowledge relevant to the role, including but not limited to: demonstrated experience in Stores Performance management and stock control; preparing specifications for a broad and diverse range of plant, fleet, and equipment; whole-of-life financial assessment and analysis skills relevant to a broad range of plant, fleet, and equipment; principles of the IPWEA best practice plant and fleet management manuals; sustainability and technology changes/advances in the plant, fleet, and equipment industry; experience in leading and working effectively in a team and independently; minimum Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations; Fleet Management Certificate or willingness to obtain; Class C Driver's Licence; General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
