Overview
Maetel Asia Pacific is expanding in Australia, and we are building a multidisciplinary local team to drive projects in electrical infrastructure, renewable energies, and substation construction in Recent South Wales.
Position
We are looking for a
detail-oriented Project Control Engineer
to support the delivery of substation projects. This role focuses on monitoring progress and overseeing project performance from different perspectives to reliably achieve established goals, while maintaining close interaction with site supervisors, engineers, and project managers. You will regularly visit project sites to gather data, verify quantities, and ensure accurate reporting of project performance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control project production and physical progress of civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
Perform quantity take-offs, calculations, and track project KPIs using Excel and project management tools.
Interpret KPI results proactively to identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of quantities, reports, and project documentation.
Conduct site visits to measure completed works and verify progress claims.
Support procurement processes by providing accurate data and performance measures to ensure timely project delivery.
Collaborate closely with the planning and cost control team.
Liaise with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to collect accurate site data.
Skills & Experience
2–5 years of proven experience in project controls, cost engineering, or quantity surveying in construction, energy, or infrastructure projects.
Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and project management tools.
Good understanding of both civil and electrical works in substation or power projects.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with field and office teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
Must hold a
valid visa to work in Australia
