Career Coach - Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA)
Breakthru is delivering the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program across NSW and Queensland in partnership with the Department of Social Services. You will support people with disability, injury or health conditions to prepare for a meaningful career, guiding them through the job-readiness journey from first conversation to job application and interview preparation.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with clients as they plan their next career steps, helping them find the right job along the way.
* Build strong relationships to understand each client's goals, strengths, and support needs.
* Provide tailored coaching and regular check-ins to maintain motivation and progress.
* Connect participants with upskilling opportunities, hands-on experience, and group-based activities.
* Collaborate with employers and community services to open pathways to employment and training.
* Meet or exceed internal and external performance benchmarks.
* Champion Breakthru's values of inclusion, empowerment, and person-centred practice.
About You
You bring empathy, energy and a strong drive to make a difference. You should have experience or a genuine passion for employment services. You're confident supporting people, building trust and guiding them toward meaningful and sustainable careers. You're outcomes-focused, highly organised, and thrive in a fast-paced, people-first environment. You enjoy understanding each client's unique strengths, goals and challenges to coach them effectively and build confidence, and you engage with employers to prepare candidates who are the right fit. You're proactive, professional, and detail-oriented, always maintaining accurate records and upholding a high standard of service. Above all, you lead with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive, person-centred support.
Essential Criteria
* Qualifications in Employment or Human Services (e.g. Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work) – desirable
* Experience in employment services and supporting people with disability, injury, or health conditions
* Proven ability to meet KPIs and create client-focused employment and skills plans
* Confident in marketing clients to employers and facilitating group programs
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Knowledge of disability legislation, support strategies, and labour market trends
* Current Driver's License - essential
