Role

As an education support class position, you will perform tasks that support the educational services provided to students, without assuming teaching duties as defined in the Education and Training Reform Act **** (Vic).
You may coordinate other support staff within your work area and assist teachers by undertaking specific support tasks.
The role may include health and wellbeing support, medical intervention tasks, or specialised student/teacher support, depending on qualifications.
Technical tasks requiring knowledge of basic principles—such as library, science, or IT support—are also possible.
Certification or qualifications of up to three years may be required; however, a Registered Nurse is not included at this level.
Responsibilities
Sort, arrange, file, and catalogue incoming/outgoing material by type and category.
Prepare descriptive lists, accessioning procedures, and file records for loans.
Retrieve, shelve, and maintain general library books and periodicals.
Shelve library materials and maintain collection order.
Assist with circulation of loan items and stock accounting.
Gather information and resources to support clients' needs.
Direct clients to appropriate resources.
Assist with maintenance and preparation of school equipment for faculty use.
Support users with audio-visual and photocopy equipment.
Track overdue loans, issue notices, and maintain records.
Help prepare displays and exhibitions.
Ensure storage areas remain clean, safe, and orderly.
Catalogue and record reference material details.
Label, cover, assemble, sort, or mark resources following manufacturer instructions and school procedures.
Assistance with security of equipment and buildings.
