Beginning with home-cooked meals, it has grown to provide over 4,000 nutritious meals each week across Greater Sydney.

At its heart, the charity is about feeding both body and soul, creating stronger, more inclusive communities.LocationStrathfield SouthTimes & Days3-6 hours, 8:30am-3pm, Monday through to FridayBrief description of roleAs a Kitchen Volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting our mission to provide nutritious meals to vulnerable members of the community.
Working alongside our team, you will help ensure food is prepared, packaged, and distributed in a safe and hygienic manner.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesWashing and cleaning fruits, vegetables, and other produce before preparation.Helping portion meals into food for distribution.Packaging meals for distribution or storage.Assist with labelling food containers with information such as ingredients, expiration dates and dietary restrictions.Assisting with kitchen clean-up tasks such as washing food trays, utensils, sanitising equipment and tidying up work areas at the end of the shift.Wiping down countertops, tables and kitchen surfaces to maintain cleanliness and sanitation.Skills and ExperienceAbility to interact with the kitchen team and complete a task independently.Able to work within required Health and Safety guidelines.Should be able to do some light lifting, moving food supplies and lifting trays to storage locations.Checks / Licenses required for this rolePolice Checks.Working with children check.General induction.Position offersLearn new skills.Build confidence.Gain valuable experience in teamwork, food preparation and community support.Connect with a diverse group of people.Enhance your resume.Experience the fulfilment of making a real difference in the lives of those in need.CategoryCommunity ServicesCommitmentRegular - more than 6 monthsType of WorkFood Preparation & ServiceTrainingGeneral Induction
