20,000 Supply chain experts serve 1 million customers per year and process about 1 m order lines per day. It is our mission to develop the best supply chain in BTB Electrical Distribution for our customers, our vendors, our associates, for sustainability and for our shareholders.
We have today 20 automated fulfillment centers with Goods to Person state-of the art e-commerce like technology. We are planning to invest heavily in new and extended fulfillment facilities, which will be mostly automated. We target to go to 50 automated FCs across the world.
Role
This is a ripper reporting to one of Melbourne's best who also reports into one of Australia's most well known leaders across transport and automation!
The Transport Operations Specialist supports the design, coordination, and continuous improvement of transport operations across a national branch network and Regional Fulfilment Centres (RFCs).
Working within a small highly focused team, this role will help to ensure transport solutions are efficient, reliable, compliant, and aligned with business and customer service objectives. This role will be instrumental in supporting the deployment, upgrade, and optimisation of transport-related systems across the business.
The position requires a broad understanding of transport operations, logistics systems, and transport data, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will also:
* Develop freight solutions to ensure safe and competitive freight services for local, interstate and international deliveries.
* Develop and execute key strategic and operational ambitions
* Implement and monitor freight provider service levels.
* Lead and drive operational excellence in CoR.
* Be a hands on leader leading a team of transport planners.
* Drive continuous improvement by constant reviews, including RFQ processes.
* Ownership of freight budgets and maintenance of appropriate models.
* Implement and Manage MHE requirements ensuring safe and sustainable operational outcomes and compliance to company policies.
* Contribute to a safety culture through risk ownership and active participation in safety programs.
Skills Required
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of transport and logistics operations within a distribution or wholesale environment
* Ability to read, interpret, and analyse logistics and transport data
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Effective communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment
* Collaborative mindset with a customer-focused approach
