Our client, a secure and very well-funded Federal Government entity, is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the optimisation and maintenance of data ingestion pipelines including both stream and batch technologies.
Develop and manage data storage tables and message schemas for various event formats.
Support Hadoop and similar technologies to ensure data is stored and accessed efficiently.
Ensure the effective implementation of role-based access controls across data lake components through technical enforcement and audit.
Identify, report, and remediate platform issues through proactive monitoring of health and performance metrics.
Technical skills:
At least 5 years' experience as a data engineer working with tight security controls, monitoring solutions, data ingest, and pipelines.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical systems to non-technical audiences.
Experience developing, managing, and implementing SOPs and procedures in support of security accreditation frameworks.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and experience managing complex projects.
Experience with the use of cloud-based technologies.
