Making a difference through compassionate administration
Where You'll Be Working

Armidale Hospital offers a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace, with free on-site parking and a strong focus on teamwork and community.

You will be part of the Patient Services Department, a close-knit and collaborative team that works across the hospital, liaising with multiple departments to support patients and their families. The team culture is welcoming, respectful, and outcome-focused, with staff working together to achieve positive experiences for everyone who comes through the hospital.

About The Role
This is a varied and engaging role providing leave coverage across a wide range of administration positions throughout the hospital. You will work across different departments, communicating with staff at all levels of the organisation, as well as patients and their families.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain a broad understanding of hospital operations and hands-on experience in multiple administrative areas — making it an excellent stepping stone for future career opportunities within health. The role is worked Monday to Friday, with shifts typically starting from 7:00am and finishing by 5:00pm, working 8 hours within that timeframe. The role involves both independent work and collaboration within teams, with no travel required.

About You
You will provide an efficient and effective administrative and clerical service, delivering high-quality customer service as a first point of contact via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions with patients and families.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is

* Adaptable and open to change
* Friendly, approachable, and proactive
* Organised, reliable, and customer-focused

Previous experience in administration and customer service is highly regarded; however all training will be provided.

Support, Training & Development

Upon commencement, you will receive comprehensive training across a range of administrative functions within the hospital, equipping you with the skills needed to succeed in the role. You will be supported by the Patient Services Manager and other managers across the facility, who provide hands-on training, guidance, and ongoing assistance. Mandatory training is provided, with opportunities to apply for further professional development as they arise.

Benefits & Team Culture

The Patient Services team is known for its strong sense of connection and support. The team enjoys celebrating achievements, birthdays, and life events — often with shared morning teas (and cake). Feedback is welcomed and encouraged through the Patient Services Manager or senior leadership, and the varied nature of the role provides exposure to multiple areas of the hospital, supporting career growth and advancement.

As this is a full-time temporary role, additional shifts may be limited; however, upon completion of the contract, there may be opportunities to join the casual pool, opening access to further shifts.
