Why Your Role Matters
A Research Associate (Level A) or Senior Research Associate (Level B) will support the Infection Analytics Program in developing a Framework for Evidence Evaluation in Vaccine Assessment (FEEVA). The project combines expertise in immunology and evidence assessment.
The role involves supervising and conducting evidence reviews on vaccine development, producing reports and publications. The candidate will collaborate with the Australian Living Evidence Collaboration (ALEC) at Monash University, applying lab experience to assess and synthesize immunology evidence for vaccine approval. This position is ideal for an experienced immunologist seeking to transition from wet lab work to evidence assessment in immunology, an emerging research field.
The role reports to the Professor/Program Head. At Level A, the role has no direct reports; at Level B, it has one.
Skills And Experience
At Level A:
* A university degree in biology, immunology, infectious diseases, or related discipline, or equivalent knowledge through education, training, or experience.
* Substantial expertise and relevant work experience in immunology, microbiology, infectious diseases, or vaccine development, with a proven track record in innovative projects.
* A desire for continuous growth and professional development.
* Commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge and developments, with a strong interest in scientific literature and the scientific method.
* Ability to conduct high-quality academic research independently with limited supervision.
* Track record of publications and conference presentations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, initiative, and discretion.
* High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software.
* Understanding of UNSW's values, policies, and health & safety responsibilities.
At Level B (in addition to the above):
* A PhD in a related discipline or relevant work experience.
* A proven research record with publications and significant industry involvement.
* Ability to work collaboratively, lead projects, and manage stakeholders effectively.
* Track record of high-impact research outcomes and research leadership potential.
