A well-established civil construction contractor operating across Tasmania is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects across multiple sectors. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially astute professional who enjoys mentoring teams and owning project outcomes end to end.
Your new role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe, timely and profitable delivery of one or more civil construction projects. You will act as the primary client interface, lead multidisciplinary site teams and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality and commercial performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading end to end project delivery from planning through to completion
* Developing and managing detailed construction programs using Microsoft Project
* Coordinating resources, procurement, subcontractors and documentation
* Monitoring cost control, productivity, forecasting and project reporting
* Managing contracts, variations, extensions of time and claims
* Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
* Mentoring and developing Project Engineers and Site Supervisors
* Driving strong safety leadership, quality assurance and risk management
* Supporting repeat work and identifying opportunities for additional scope
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the role, you will require the following:
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
* Minimum 5 years experience delivering civil construction projects
* Proven capability managing large budgets, programs and project teams
* Experience delivering projects exceeding $5 million highly regarded
* Strong working knowledge of AS contracts and civil specifications
* High level of commercial acumen with strong cost and risk management skills
* Confident client-facing communication and stakeholder management ability
* Proficiency with Microsoft Project and construction finance systems
* Current Driving Licence
