We're searching for an experienced Category Lead to join us on our journey to be the trades most valued partner.
About the Role: As the Category Lead, you will oversee an industry-leading product portfolio that sets us apart from our competitors. You'll manage stakeholder relationships across our supply chain, collaborating with local and overseas partners.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring category portfolios are customer-focused and deliver a clear competitive edge by conducting regular range reviews for optimisation and identifying new product opportunities.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders, including negotiating commercial terms and overseeing supplier performance.
* Driving product innovation and development, guiding products from concept through to launch while collaborating with key stakeholders to bring ideas to fruition.
* Building industry connections to stay informed on the latest innovations and disruptions.
* Producing insightful reports on category portfolios using tools like Excel and Power BI, analysing results to share updates on trends and impacts.
* Developing category strategies that guarantee efficient product supply and align with business objectives.
* Placing customers at the centre of your work, building customer for life.
About you
* Demonstrated experience in a similar category management and/or product management role – including supplier management and new product development.
* Strong relationship building skills; you'll be working with a number of stakeholders within the business and external vendors and suppliers, including leading global brands and overseas partners.
* Experience mentoring and/or leading a team will be highly regarded as you will be leading a small team in this role.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a passion for mentoring and sharing your knowledge and expertise, and an ability to present and engage audiences.
* A positive, can-do attitude and an inquisitive nature, with a thirst to understand the Reece business and products.
* Good Excel and Power BI skills.
* Ideally you will also have had some experience working in a B2B environment (trade / distribution customers).
