This is a mid-level role for an engineer with 4+ years post-grad experience.
SA Power Networks has received its Australian Energy Regulator (AER) Regulatory Determination for 2020-2025. To continue achieving our successful ranking as Australia's most efficient state-wide distribution network service provider, despite a challenging reset determination and ageing network, SAPN and IT 2020-25 Regulatory objectives are to:
* Manage business and network costs through the efficient use of data and digital technology
* Support and enable future network developments using data and digital
* Maintain compliance
* Maintain current levels of customer and network services and risk

This role will support the enhancement and evolution of our data platform, providing expertise in data engineering, implementation, and building data products in collaboration with cross-functional teams focused on customer outcomes.
The responsibilities include providing technical support for our data platform, along with advisory and hands-on support. Experience with Snowflake, SAP, and BDT is highly desirable.
Key Objectives
* Develop new solutions for the data platform in liaison with stakeholders ensuring requirements are met
* Lead continuous improvement by staying informed of data and technology developments and making recommendations to grow data capability
* Ensure data platform availability and responsiveness within business hours
* Contribute to and support the Data roadmap and development standards
* Ensure data products adhere to security policies and escalation processes
* Document solutions and integration components for support, following standards and procedures
* Follow SAPN change methodology, including testing, backout plans, and collaboration with stakeholders
* Support data projects throughout their lifecycle

Required Knowledge
* Engage with stakeholders to improve business processes and educate end users
* Data modeling and integration best practices
* SQL and data science languages (Python, R, Java, Scada)
* Knowledge of ITSM processes
* Experience with at least one data platform: SAP, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, SAP DataSphere, DBT
* Knowledge of cloud development, IaC, and CICD concepts
